How to find out if someone has attempted to log into your computer 0

Ever wondered if someone has attempted to log into your computer? You don't need to download any extra software to do this if you have a PC. Sorry, Mac users. I'm not familiar with the process on a Mac.

On a PC, go to through the following steps:
Go to Start and find the Run option
In the Run text box, type: gpedit.msc
This will bring up the Group Policy Editor
In the left pane, click on: Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Audit Policy

In the right pane, double-click Audit logon events. A pop-up will appear asking which events you want to log. Make your selections. You can double-click other options that are in the right pane if you wish to log them, too.

You've now enabled event logging. Now, to actually view those events, you need to access the Event Viewer.

I never knew that my computer was so loud 0

I had everything in the room, except my computer turned off, and it was pretty quiet. I had to reboot my computer (grr. That's another post) and was amazed at how much more quiet it was after turning off my computer. Who knew that the little hum from my computer tower could create so much noise?
