Google fixes itself - Firefox User Script Number Google Results working again 0

I wrote a post about Number Google Results not working since Google changed the structure of its search query. That issue seems to have been resolved. I actually noticed the fix a few weeks ago, but just got around to it.

As far as I know, it was only an issue for a day.

I will admit that sometimes, these types of spam comments do almost get me. But, what's going through my mind is that it doesn't look spammy (it doesn't contain links), so it could be approved...if it actually provided any reference to the original post. This does not. Therefore, it was marked as spam after the entire comment was Googled and showed up on a few other sites.

Google search changes its query string format and breaks Firefox’s Numbered Google Results 0

I just realized that Number Google Results is not working. The problem is with the new structure of the Google search query string. Before, if you were searching for:

"google"

...the query would have looked like ?hl=en&q=%22google%22

Now, it looks like webhp?hl=en#num=100&hl=en&q="google"&fp=randomlettersandnumbersthatmaybeusedfortracking

*The num=100 part is the number of results that I have set in my preferences.

The good thing is that the old search format still works. You just have to enter your query in the address bar. Either Google needs to officially partner with the author of the Number Google Results script, or Google should just number their results. I'm tired of updating the script after it stops working.
