I guess so. I find it hard to watch I Love Lucy sometimes. She’s always scared that Ricky is going to hit her for her schemes. At one point, he actually put her over his knee and spanked her.

In the episode that I’m watching now, she intentionally gets herself sunburned so that Ricky won’t be able to hit her after he finds out that she went over her $100 shopping budget and purchased a $500 dress.

Then, there’s the way that she speaks to him, calling him “Sir.” It’s so demeaning.
